Vepr 12 High-Performance Rebuilds

As with Saigas, Molot assembly, pinning, riveting, and spot welding operations are largely done with direct employee involvement, and no two Vepr 12s are exactly alike. We apply the same thorough individualized assessment, meticulous hand rebuild and tuning processes previously described. As with the Saiga and KS12 platforms, customization is available as desired, and invoiced on a parts plus installation labor basis.

What is different about the Vepr

The Vepr 12 is a different starting point than a Saiga 12. Built on an RPK trunnion and heavier-gauge receiver, with a fixed, non-adjustable gas system and factory last-round bolt hold-open, the Molot is a robust, built-to-last shotgun. It comes from the factory purpose-built to run high-velocity tactical ammo. In unmodified factory trim it can be a real beast to shoot.

Transforming that gun into one that’s actually a pleasure to shoot is where this work matters on the Vepr. Along with the action and trigger work, these builds will typically run a much wider range of far less punishing ammunition — bird shot through low-recoil and full-power tactical buck and slugs.

922(r) compliance

Vepr 12 rebuilds on stock factory guns, or on guns missing one or more required 922(r) compliance parts, will be outfitted with the necessary parts during the rebuild. In addition to a U.S.-made box or drum magazine, which many Vepr owners already have and which counts as three U.S. compliance parts, three more parts are normally required for 922(r) compliance. By default we install those three as a U.S.-made fire-control group (hammer, trigger, and disconnector). If you intend to use foreign-made magazines, please tell us. We will install three additional parts, charged on your quote at flat supplier list price, to bring the part count into 922(r) compliance.
